Classical Musicians

Our four piece a capella quartets and singing waiters are some of the most popular performers in the London area in their genre, singing opera unacompanied for every variety of event in London and the UK throughout the year.

MFL’s stunning and unique a cappella quartets create fantastic entertainment for 10 to 1000 guests for an occasion that your guests will talk about long after.

The quartets are made up of some of the best young voices in the UK, recent graduates of the Guildhall School of Music and the Royal Accademy and professional singers hand selected to perform to the highest standard.

Mobility and flexibility of the quartets allows them to greet guests as they enter, roam amongst them with a song while they eat and mingle, or enchanting guests with a stunning staged performance.

For the smaller more intimate venues our singers are able to perform unamplified and with seamless flexibility, but also perform amplified for venues of 1000 to 2000 or more!

Client Comments
“Thanks for organizing the wonderful singers. They were absolutely perfect, very charming, beautiful voices, and the hour just melted away!”
- Gill Brewster, Sevenoaks

Hi Sara, I just wanted to say thank you for helping organise the Opera quartet to perform last night at the ICA. They were extremely professional, polite, accommodating, but above all wonderful singers! Given that they were competing with the conversations of a 200 strong crowd of revellers, they managed to be heard and were appreciated by all. It was a pity that it was only after they had left that the host gave thanks to the singers to rapturous applause. Please pass this thanks on to them from me, the organisers of the event, and the ICA staff who all enjoyed the performance immensely. Have a very Merry Christmas!
- Kind Regards, Siôn Creative Networks Executive

“Both of my managers came in this morning saying how fantastic the singers were, and that they added such a lovely atmosphere to the evening. Eleanor said that both their professionalism and their talents were of the highest calibre, and this was noted by many of the guests.”
- Kristine, 47 Park Street Grand Residence Club

“Hello Sara, Thanks for your good wishes – I am glad to say the evening was a huge success, better than we dared hope! The performers were just wonderful. I expected them to have terrific voices and I was not disappoted, but they were such nice people who really worked well with us and did everything we asked them to do. Please pass on our sincere thanks to them and I hope we can work together again in the future.”
- Best wishes to you too, Isobel

“I just wanted to say a very big thank you for Saturday the clients absolutely loved it especially the farewell song.”

Say “Hello” to the UK’s newest and most cabaret act – The Singing Waitresses! The three girls form an outstanding 3-part vocal harmony group, performing songs from a vast range of eras, from the swinging classics of the Andrews Sisters, to the modern and funky beats of Girls Aloud! Along with their glamorous costumes and polished dance move, these girls are sure to get your party into full swing!

Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy

One Fine Day

The girls formed the group whilst working together at the famous Naked Turtle Restaurant in London, which is home to the original singing waitresses. In April of 2009, the girls were spotted by the BBC and asked to appear on the BBC1 Saturday Night hit show “Tonight’s The Night” with John Barrowman. The girls battled it out in the “Workplace Wonders” competition and made it all the way to the final, fighting off the accountants, the paramedics and the fire fighter along the way! The girls were pipped to the post by the band of cheeky plumbers, but the experience inspired them to take off the apron’s and don their sparkly blue dresses ready to entertain audience everywhere!

Individually, the girls all have a vast range of performing experience, including West End Musicals, Nationwide Tours and high-end corporate functions. The Singing Waitresses are able to provide the perfect evening’s entertainment, no matter how big or small the event. The girls can perform either to backing tracks, or they can offer package, which includes a full live band, depending on your budget. As the girls are also trained waitress, this element can be incorporated into your event if you so wish. This can be done either as a surprise for your guests; the girls would be dressed as normal waitress and burst into song when least expected! Or they can host the evening in full costume when your guests arrive and enjoy handing out drinks or canapé’s whilst getting to know their audience for the evening!

Classical Musicians

Born in Cornwall, Saffron has a Joint Honours degree in Italian and French from Cambridge University and is fluent in four languages. Before University, she studied singing with Joyce Robson. Just days after her seventeenth birthday, she won a choral scholarship to Cambridge University and, still aged seventeen, she won first prize in the “Vocal Championship Class” as well as in the French Art Song, Oratorio and Opera Classes at the County of Cornwall Music Festival and garnered experience as guest soloist for many Male Voice Cornish Choirs.

At university her operatic and operetta roles have included Phyllis (Iolanthe) the Beggar Woman (Sweeney Todd, awarded 5* at the Edinburgh Festival 2007), the Sandman (Hänsel and Gretel) and Suor Genevieffa (Suora Angelica) for the Beethoven Ensemble and chorus (Venus and Adonis and Les Incas du Pérou).

Her concert work includes, Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the Goonvrea Singers, Mozart’s Requiem at Robinson College, Cambridge, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with the Fitzwilliam String Quartet and Vaughn William’s Mass in G with Fitzwilliam College Choir, Cambridge, conducted by Kiffer Finzi. She has also twice performed in Raymond Gubbay’s ‘Classical Spectacular’ at the Royal Albert Hall.

During her year abroad, she studied singing in Rome with Maestro Ludovico Malavasi, lecturer at the Conservatorio di Musica “San Pietro a Majella”. Whilst in Italy, she performed extensively in recitals and concerts with many respected artists. She attended the “Opera Studio” at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia at the Parco della Musica, held by world-renowned soprano Renata Scotto and the Abingdon Course for Solo Singers.

In 2009 she won a coveted place to study on the postgraduate vocal course at the Royal Northern College of Music which will commence in September 2010. Future plans include an Operatic Gala tour of Sicily in which she will perform soprano solo and performances in Monaco, Rome, Chioggia and Orvieto. Her voice is featured on the new album from “The Piano Room”, due for release on Irma Records in April 2010.

Aside from her musical accomplishments, Saffron is an accomplished flautist (grade 8), trained dancer (ten years’ experience of ballet, jazz, tap and character), radio presenter (Cambridge University Radio CUR1350), and actress (trained by Nicholas Hawtrey of the Royal Shakespeare Company).

The Trinity Singers is a dynamic vocal ensemble of highly trained professional singers, all in their twenties. The group performs a very wide range of music which is tailored to the audience or venue – from jazz and pop arrangements to close harmony to well-loved classical favourites. A typical programme might include popular classics like Elgar’s Nimrod or Barber’s Adagio, alongside jazz standards and the theme tunes to Austin Powers and Friends.

In December 2005, The Trinity Singers filmed a medley of Christmas carols for BBC2, which was broadcast during the snooker championship final; since then they have performed nationwide. In November 2008, the group sang to Prince Charles on ITV1 as part of his 60th birthday celebrations, and last year gave their debut in Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre as part of the Voicelab series.

Last summer, they filmed for the TNT Show on Channel 4, and in October were engaged to perform Judith Weir’s Missa Del Cid at St John’s, Smith Square. Last Christmas, they gave concerts in Madrid, and this spring recorded the Sunday Half Hour for BBC Radio 2, as well as recording a CD of Christmas music for Union Square Music. In November, the group will be making its BBC Radio 4 debut, broadcasting the Daily Service. Their most recent engagement was filming a new advert for sky+.

The Trinity Singers was established in 2003 by Hilary, who directs the ensemble and sings soprano. Other members of the group also sing with prestigious professional choirs such as the BBC Singers and the Monteverdi Choir.

The group’s client list includes: ITV1; Channel 4; BBC2; BBC Radio 2; the Duke of Kent (St James’ Palace); The Prince of Wales (Wimbledon New Theatre); Royal Palace, Madrid; Marks and Spencer’s; Fenwick’s; House of Fraser; Canary Wharf; Cancer Research UK; Action Against Hunger; London’s Air Ambulance; National Maritime Museum; Charlton House; various Rotary clubs; the Worshipful Company of Masons; Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance; Union Square Music; numerous Councils; UK music clubs and societies; various concert halls; private clients.

Depending on your requirements, The Trinity Singers can provide between four and eleven singers (typically eight) for concerts, events or private functions. The group’s versatility makes it an ideal choice for weddings; perhaps providing classical, religious or spiritual music during the ceremony and lively pop and jazz arrangements at the reception. During the run up to Christmas, the ensemble may be engaged to add extra festive cheer for parties and carol concerts alike. Similarly at corporate events, The Trinity Singers can either perform a range of easy listening background music or provide the main entertainment of the evening, with sparkling renditions of popular hits. Either way, this adds a unique and special feel to any function. Although based in London, the singers are willing to travel.

The Russian Choir is an a cappella choir. They sings unaccompanied music from the Russian repertoire: music for Russian Orthodox services and well know Russian folk songs. The choir is based in Glasgow, Scotland and it has performed on a national and international base.

It made 2 public appearances before the end of 2004, and has continued performing regularly since then, both in Eastwood and beyond. More recently, some well-known Russian folksongs have been added to the repertoire, and performed in concert.

This beautiful passionate music is a joy to sing, and has given huge enjoyment to those who have listened to it. Vladimir Morozov, their artistic director and conductor, has brought and taught them all this music, making for a very rewarding experience for choir members and audience alike.
