<p>Peggy is a professional harpist in London. She performs a variety of music suitable for all occasions, ranging from formal concerts to informal receptions.</p>
<p>Peggy is a highly respected harpist on the classical circuit today. She performs more than 100 events per year, and has recently performed for events in a number of high profile venues such as Kensington Palace, the Ritz, The Landmark Hotel, the Lanesborough, The Royal Lancaster and in the presence of HRH Prince William and Harry. Her musical performance will bring a special touch to your event and will add the essential atmosphere you are looking for.</p>

<p>Peggy has performed as a soloist in Halls such as Theatre des champs Elysées, Salle Pleyel and Opera comique in Paris, St-Martin in the field, Kensington Palace, St- Michaels Church in London, and National Opera in Nice. She has also been invited to give a Recital for the Seventh Mondial Harp Congress in Prague. Peggy has worked with many of the world leading conductors, such as Armin Jordan, Jacques Mercier, Jean Claude Casadessus, Lorin Maazel, Janos Fürst, and Sir Charles Mackerras. Peggy recently performed the Boildieu’s Concerto in C in London and received a standing ovation.</p>
<p>Peggy was Born in Nice in 1978, where, at the age of 4, she started to study piano. At 9, she began studying the harp under the tuition of Ms. E. Fontan-Binoche and obtained her Musical Diploma at the Conservatoire National de Region de Nice with distinction in 1996. The same year, she was offered a place at the Conservatoire de Paris-CNR to study with Marielle Nordmann on a Master-class course, where she also obtained a Diploma in Historical Studies.</p>

<p>In 2000 she won an Elsie Martin Award to study at the Royal College of Music, with Ieuan Jones and passed her Postgraduate Diploma in Solo Performance in June 2001. In 2002 she won a scholarship &#8211; the French Award Lavoisier from Ministere des Affaires Etrangeres to continue her study at the RCM and obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Advance Performance with distinction.</p>
<p>Peggy has participated in many master classes with the world’s leading harp teachers, such as Catherine Michel, Marie-Claire Jamet, Erika Waardenburg, Fabrice Pierre and Marielle Nordmann. Peggy has won the 1st prize of the Concours de Harpe de Cassis , and the 1st prize of the Concours de Musique de Chambre de Cassis, with a special prize &#8220;Marielle Nordmann&#8221;. She also won a prize in the First International Competition « Lily Laskine », and then the second prize in the Deuxieme Concours International de Musique de Chambre en Arles.</p>

<p>Duo Astrea has given recitals in London, with venues including: The Royal Society of Medicine, Wimpole Street; the Ritz Hotel, Piccadilly and Cumberland Lodge, Windsor. The duo has also performed across the south of England. Their future engagements include a summer recital series in South France, August 2009.</p>
<p>The Duo is available for corporate functions, weddings, lounge music, recitals, and other performance occasions.</p>
<p><strong>Kate Walter – Flute</strong><br />
Kate graduated with a First from GSMD where she studied flute with Philippa Davies and Sarah Newbold, and piccolo with Sharon Williams. She was awarded a scholarship to continue her studies on the MMus course at GSMD.</p>
<p>During her four years at GSMD, Kate has been Principal flute of the Guildhall Sinfonia, Guildhall Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Guildhall Opera Orchestra, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra and Guildhall Symphony Orchestra. </p>
<p>Her recent appearances have included ITV’s Record of the Year and the London production of ‘Les Miserables.’ This year Kate won the prestigious Needlemakers’ Competition and the ‘Ivan Sutton’ chamber music prize.</p>
<p>Kate was Principal Flute of the National Youth Wind Ensemble, CBSO Youth Orchestra and Midland Youth Orchestra. She has toured to Belgium and Holland playing with ‘Zomeropera’ in a ‘Carmen’ project, as well as playing for Cruise ships.</p>
<p><strong>Katie Flanaghan – Harp</strong><br />
Katie started playing the harp during her years as a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral.</p>
<p>As a solo harpist, Katie has performed at venues such as the Royal Institute of British Architects, The Gherkin and Le Meridien, festivals including Southern Cathedrals’ Festival and Calne &amp; Melksham Festival. In 2005, she performed the world premiere of trio Azaleas by Gary Carpenter at the Holywell Showroom, later played on BBC Radio 3.</p>
<p>Katie has played with orchestras including the English Sinfonia, National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and Sarum Orchestra, working with conductors such as Marin Alsop, George Benjamin and Andrew Litton, performing in the major concert halls in Great Britain.</p>
<p>She has recorded two CDs with nationally acclaimed choir Sarum Voices, performing Bernstein Chichester Psalms, Janecek Otce nas and Britten Ceremony of Carols.  The Britten was highly recommended on BBC Radio 3?s “Building A Library”. </p>
<p>Katie studied with Charlotte Seale at GSMD and now continuing her harp studies with the renowned harpist Sioned Williams.</p>
